These sleeves, the elegant big sisters of ‘The Gloves,’ are a labor of love and hold a special place in my heart. Handcrafted entirely by hand, they are made from 100% mercerized cotton, a sustainable material, in which the mercerization process not only enhances the cotton’s natural texture but also gives it a smooth finish and a subtle sheen, all while ensuring the material's long-lasting durability.
The design of these sleeves is unique and inspired by the elegance of classic opera gloves. They feature a delicate loop around the middle finger that extends all the way up to the elbow, adding a sense of refinement and grace. To ensure a secure and comfortable fit at the wrist, each sleeve is fastened with four small, iridescent cream-colored buttons on the inside. These buttons serve not only as functional elements but as subtle details that enhance the overall refined look of the sleeves.
The gloves are crocheted in a triangular pattern I discovered in my great aunt’s crochet book, which holds a deep, sentimental value for me. Having been taught to crochet by my mom during my childhood, this craft is something that will always be close to my heart. The beauty of crochet lies in its authenticity—it cannot be replicated by machines, and each piece requires a combination of patience, skill, and personal attention.
